We are halfway through this years National Assisted Living Week, which was September 11-17th, 2022. NALW provides a unique opportunity for residents, their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and local communities to celebrate the individuals who live and work in assisted living and learn more about this sector of long term care.
This week we painted sunflowers with Tracey, a local artist, who volunteered her time to do a painting class in our east and west house. We then were graced with the Proclamation on Tuesday evening from Lawrence, Kansas Mayor Courtney Shipley, who proclaimed this week OFFICIALLY Lawrence Kansas's National Assisted Living Week. Cosmas Saina, our administrator, spoke briefly at the council meeting to explain why assisted living and joyful moments are important and how assisted living is vital to the community.
We were joined at NHL Wednesday with a PhotoBooth from SayCheezLawrence, to capture the moments at Neuvant House during the afternoon. This morning, September 15, 2022, Neuvant House of Lawrence treated staff to Uplift Coffee Truck and Gel Polish Manicures by Salon 741, owned by Lawrence's own Amber Bidding, who provides weekly hair salon visits for our residents in house.
We plan on a car show over the weekend, and hopefully more pictures will follow from the remainder of our wonder #NALW here at Neuvant House of Lawrence.
Thank you to the families and friends who celebrate our loved ones and staff throughout the week, and throughout the year.
It's also pirate month in West House, so be on the look out for the next Blog!
Until next time,
NHL
